The fastest came from Germany, South Africa, Australia, Switzerland, Austria, Great Britain and Poland. The most successful athletes came from Volkswagen R, Adidas Terrex and Salomon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ultratrail: 3-fold triumph of the Germans, high tension among the women<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The supreme discipline, the Ultratrail over 111 kilometers and 5180 meters of altitude difference was a triumph for the German starters: Marcel Gei\u00dfler from &#8220;The North Face&#8221; Team already pulled away from the second aid station, did not show any real phase of weakness and finally won in 12:36:05 hours in front of Michael Zweigart from the Allg\u00e4u Outlet Raceteam and Dynafit athlete Andre Purschke. Geissler became a father just four weeks ago. &#8220;I took it relatively easy and looked to find my rhythm. The thought of my daughter at the finish line then gave me extra motivation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Things were much more exciting in the women&#8217;s race: Lada Stalzerova from the Czech Republic, the defending champion and leading until the last aid station, had to admit defeat to co-favorite Marta Wenta at the end. The Pole ran out a lead of almost seven minutes in the last kilometers and finally won in 15:12:49 hours. competition<\/h3>\n<p>Almost 800 runners, thousands of spectators and a great festival atmosphere: The Garmisch-Partenkirchen Trail with its 32 kilometers and 1535 meters of altitude difference developed into a worthy start to the &#8220;ZUT&#8221; weekend. In the end, the favorites won: Emma Pooley from Switzerland and Hans-Peter Innerhofer from Austria, both starting for Team Salomon. In between: fast forest trails, crunchy trails and a full rain shower. With a time of exactly 2:24 hours, Innerhofer was well ahead of the calculated winning time and over six minutes ahead of runner-up Lukas Gasser from Italy (Team Scarpa, 2:30:16) and CzechTomas Hudec (Salomon\/Rab) in 2:30:26. After a 2 year pandemic break (as an alternative there was the ZUT Virtual) and the current postponement to July 2022, due to the G7 Summit at Schloss Ellmau, all running fans can now breathe a sigh of relief and look forward to an event of superlatives on the ZUT weekend from July 15 to 17.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Record Participation with 3750 runners from 56 nations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With approx. 3750 runners from 56 nations, the ZUT has more registrations than ever before in its 10-year history, after starting with exactly 676 participants in Grainau, in 2011. for June 17-19, 2022, will be postponed to July 15-17, 2022. The reason is the G 7 Summit in Schloss Elmau near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, scheduled at short notice by the new German government for the end of June. This was officially confirmed by the German government in a press release on December 14. The concrete preparations for this will already begin at the end of May 2022, accompanied by massive barriers, construction work and blocked hotel contingents for up to 30,000 security personnel. That is why the PLAN B event company as organizer will not get a permit for the Zugspitz Ultratrail on the planned date of June 17-19, 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, the authorities have now given the green light for the next possible free date. The organizers are anticipating up to 4000 runners from all over the world, who can choose from 5 routes varying from 25 to 106 km around Germany&#8217;s highest mountain, the Zugspitze. For the first time ever, the start of the Ultratrail and the finish of all races will be in the Olympic town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After two years of pandemic-related interruption, the Zugspitz Ultratrail is back.
